Sneakers Allowed on Clay Tennis Courts

What to Wear

Here are four examples of tennis sneakers that are appropriate for clay courts.  The surface is fairly even with no deep grooves.  The herringbone pattern is common with this type of sneaker.  Sneakers with smooth soles or small circles were common several years ago, and will also be acceptable.

From left to right, these sneakers are (for men and women): Nike Zoom Cage 2, Wilson Rush 2.0, New Balance 996v2, Babolat Propulse 4.

What Not to Wear

Any sneaker with grooves, or with bumps that would mark the courts.  Running sneakers  will not be allowed.
